Bradbri’s EDM wire cutting capability allows us to machine intricate metal profiles, hardened materials, and complex shapes that conventional CNC machining simply cannot achieve. Using electrical discharge machining, we cut through hardened steel and exotic materials with micron-level accuracy — with zero mechanical stress, zero heat distortion, and no cutting force on the component.
Whether you require tight tolerance tooling, intricate die profiles, or hardened component features, our EDM wire cutting service delivers precision that no other machining process can match. From single prototype cuts to production batch runs, our team at our Boksburg facility is ready to review your drawings and respond within 1 business day.

When precision is non-negotiable, experience matters. Bradbri has spent decades engineering high-reliability mechanical components for defence, mining, and heavy industry — industries where every tolerance, every material specification, and every component is critical to the performance and safety of the systems they support.
Whether you need a reverse engineered obsolete component, a custom prototype developed from scratch, or a full production run of precision mechanical assemblies, Bradbri has the capability, the equipment, and the commitment to deliver to your exact specification — on time, every time. When you choose Bradbri, you choose an engineering partner that takes your requirements as seriously as you do.

EDM wire cutting uses a thin electrically charged wire to cut through metal using electrical discharge — with no mechanical contact and no cutting force applied to the component. This allows us to cut hardened materials and intricate profiles with micron-level accuracy that conventional CNC machining cannot achieve.
Our EDM wire cutting accuracy is ±0.005mm — significantly tighter than standard CNC machining. Because EDM applies no mechanical force and generates no heat distortion, the cut geometry is maintained precisely even on hardened and heat-treated materials.
We cut hardened steel, tool steel, carbide, stainless steel, high-strength alloys, and other exotic materials that are difficult or impossible to machine conventionally. Any electrically conductive material can be cut using EDM wire cutting.
Use EDM wire cutting when your component is already hardened, when you need tolerances tighter than ±0.01mm, when the profile geometry is too intricate for a milling cutter, or when you need a 2D or tapered profile cut through the full thickness of a material. Common applications include dies, punches, tooling inserts, and precision hardened components.
We accept single component EDM wire cutting jobs with no minimum order. Whether you need one precision cut component or a production batch, our process and quality standard remains exactly the same.
